Most of the military schools are boarding schools, and are either privately owned or rather funded by the U.S. government. The military environment instills the virtues of honor, self-discipline, teamwork and other strong skills. Some schools have the famed Middle School Cadet Corps (MSCC) program. The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program oversees the MSCC. Both are funded by the Defense Department. The elementary school cadet corps is a voluntary after-school program. The young cadets are taught responsibility, first aid and character-building activities. Trips to bases are organized. They wear uniforms on certain days and have military-style training. But the recruitment to military services is still far from the set target.

A few military elementary schools in the US are West Point elementary school, US Military Academy (NY), Military Heights elementary school, Roswell (NM), Lyman Ward Military Academy, Camp Hill (AL) and Fork Union Military Academy (VA). Most military schools start from grade six.

There are conflicting views regarding the benefits of military recruiters visiting elementary schools. But battling myths, these educational establishments have a proven record in sharpening the mind and fine-tuning the body, in a positively nurturing environment.

When you consider each of these aspects, keep in mind that not all paralegal schools are the same. Although many of these schools do provide students with an outstanding level of education and the skills needed to do an outstanding job, other schools do not meet the needs of the student. Do you know about - Art Instruction Schools Review - Can You Draw This?

School Ratings! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Some years back when I was teaching engineering at Iowa State University, I sent for that little test that can get you into the Art Instruction Schools. I passed the test but never heard from the School again which was just up I-35 north of me.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the real about School Ratings. You check this out article for facts about a person want to know is School Ratings.

How is Art Instruction Schools Review - Can You Draw This?

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from School Ratings.

A couple of years ago, I took the test again. I passed again. Nothing happened. I looked on the Internet and called the school. The school sent me some information but gave me no way to sign up for the course. Then one day I got a call from a gentleman who lives in Tooele, Utah. He said that he was coming up to see me and to start drawing so that he could see what I could do. A week later he showed up in his beat-up old car, told me that he covered most of the western states, and asked if I could afford the course.

Getting those formalities out of the way, he looked at my drawings. I asked, "Do you think I can learn to draw."

He looked at my landscape paintings on the walls of my home. Finally he said, "Yes, you can learn to draw."

I wrote him a check for the three-year course even though he advised me to pay by the month, gave me a few hints on drawing, and took off to interview a teenager up the rode who he suspected would not be able to purchase the course.

I have now completed the course except for the final exam which I have not yet received. Here are my impressions:

1. The cost is very reasonable for what you receive, but it cost almost ,000.00. However, you can pay by the month if that is a factor.

2. Each lesson comes in a separate book. You get one book at a time except the first time when you get the first two lessons. I found that I occasionally had to wait for a lesson to be returned a bit longer than I wanted to wait. However, almost all lessons have been returned within 30 days. There were some longer delays because of the artist being on maternity leave, including one of my mail instructors. The staff had quite a baby boom this spring. I asked to have lessons sent in advance so that I could finish the course within 18 months rather than three years. I got my final lessons in one big bunch. This is not a good idea-it is better to see your grade and criticism from the previous lesson before you start a new lesson- but I'm an old man with a pig's aortic valve and time is precious to me.

3. Each lesson is very comprehensive. You will see examples from great artist, from other students, and from the Art Instruction Schools instructors. Each technique is clearly and expertly explained. There are exercises in each lesson that need to be completed. Finally you do your assignment and send it in for grading.

4. What amazed me was that every lesson you completed by submitting the final drawing or drawings was not only evaluated but also drawn by the grading instructor. This is very important because you are not criticized but shown how things should be done. The instructor draws your drawing and puts an overlay on top of your drawing with helpful comments on the overlay to help you master the subject at hand. In all cases, my work looked like crap along side that of the instructors.

5. I didn't call into talk to an instructor until I was well into the course even though I was advised to do so in every lesson. That was a missed opportunity. When I did call in, I realized what a wealth of knowledge the Art Instruction Schools instructors have. I was never brushed off by an busy instructor. I was always given as much time as I needed and then some. The instructors are talented artist and great teachers.

6. I met only one student while I took the course. He is an American Indian that lives not too far from me on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation. He is a very talented artist and I couldn't see why he was taking the course. He told me the one thing that he had learned from the course (he is behind me) was patience. I have to agree on that. Art takes time and you have to give your brain a break to do it right. The school always says not to rush your work. For me, that is tough. I bought an ink drawing from the young man. He wanted .00 and I offered him .00. He took it because he had a date that night. I guess I had just come from a yard sale and was still in the bartering mode. I have decided that I owe him that .00 because I enjoy the drawing very much. I'll get it to him the next time I pass by that way.

7. My drawing does not compare with the instructors but I have been able to maintain a "B" average over the course. For that, I received a special certificate for each lesson segment noting that I had done above average work. I received only a couple of "C" grades and "A" grades.

8. The most interesting lessons to me were using color. I now just blend the three primary colors for my landscapes, seldom looking for a particular color in a tube. Learning to use ink washes and color was interesting to me. However, the emphasis on the course was drawing. If you can master drawing, you will be a much better painter, not only from the accuracy of the drawings but by seeing tones, light and shadow, and textures.

9. I learned as I went along that I had not mastered the earlier lessons as well as I should have. I was continually going back to see what I had done versus what the instructor had done versus what the lessons said to do. Like always, I was too much in a hurry. I'm goal driven. I pick up a lesson book and say, "I've got to get this baby in there." That is the wrong approach. Take the three years.

10. Some of the many skills taught in the course are composition, design, lettering, etc. The company was started in 1914 to train artists for the United States Mint. When I was required to design a stamp and received the instructors version of my stamp, I could see that the school's history is still evident. I was proud of my stamp and my wife liked it too, so did my artist daughter-in-law (who is very polite). But the instructors stamp using my design was stupendous.

The school has about 5000 students, so I have been told. They are selective as to who they enroll as students with being able to pay for the course a prime factor, but if you don't have the ability to learn to draw in the mind of the gentleman in the old car, you will not be accepted.

Did I get out of the course what I wanted? What I wanted was to improve my landscapes. However, I have only done a few landscapes since I enrolled in the course. But I know that my landscapes will be much better after the course. There are no other courses available. If they did offer a specific course on landscape painting, I would take it.

There are famous graduates of the School. Charles Schultz of Snoopy fame was a graduate and also an instructor at the School. Why yes, there was a lesson on cartooning and I just loved it. You could see one of my cartoons but I am not allowed to tell you how to find it on the Internet. That would be self-aggrandizement.

The basic art course at Art Instruction Schools is a humdinger!

Do you know about - Students Must Prove Residency to Attend Illinois Schools?

Provo School District Jobs! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

It used to be that you just went to the school that was closest to your house. You might have walked to school or rode bikes with some friends. In some circumstances, you might have even taken the bus into town to go to school. There wasn't really a lot of fuss about WHERE you went to school, you just went.

What I said. It is not outcome that the true about Provo School District Jobs. You read this article for information on what you want to know is Provo School District Jobs.

How is Students Must Prove Residency to Attend Illinois Schools?

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Provo School District Jobs.

Recently, a first grader who attends the Illinois schools had his right to attend questioned. It seems that, although the boy's mother has custody, he still stays with his dad three or four nights a week due to the mom's night-shift nursing job.

Each parent lives in different school districts of Illinois; and both districts denied him access.

How pathetic. This boy is living through a difficult time in his life. His parents, no matter what the reasons behind their separation, seem to be doing all they can to make sure he is safe and growing up well. They are obviously concerned for the education he is getting and by having him stay with dad while mom is at work, instead of with a sitter or at daycare, demonstrates to me that they are trying their best.

To have the schools in Illinois get involved in this family's personal life is appalling. What business is it of theirs where the child spends most nights of the week? Kind of judgmental, don't ya think? The Illinois schools must have much better things to concern themselves with than where their six year old students are living. Like test scores. School safety. The No Child Left Behind Act.

Why is this even a school issue? Granted, geographics and boundaries are a school district's decision and kids do need to go to the schools in Illinois that are in their neighborhoods. Surely, exceptions can be made when a child's home life is in turmoil.

In times of distress, and divorce certainly qualifies, one thing that a child should be able to rely on is the stability that attending his or her Illinois schools can give. School is a constant, a child knows what to expect each day, and the normalcy is a comfort in the uncertain times of familial upheaval. Many times, parents even turn to the Illinois schools to help their children deal with the stress and emotion of such times. For Illinois schools to refuse education to a child because of a situation such as this is appalling.

On the other hand...

Of course, Illinois schools can't let everyone go to school wherever they want to. If a climate of school choice is available within an individual district, then so be it. However, most kids do have to attend school in their district, or they must obtain an "exemption". Surely this could have been done for this young student who only wants to get back to his teacher, his Illinois school and his friends.

Do you know about - Recall Fever Rages in the Michigan Schools

Lakeview Elementary! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

According to an August 14th article in the Detroit Daily News, an unintended consequence of the Michigan schools funding crisis is a growing number of recalls within the Metro-Detroit area. The grassroots efforts attempt to oust school board officials, who make unfavorable decisions within the Detroit school districts.

What I said. It isn't outcome that the actual about Lakeview Elementary. You read this article for info on that need to know is Lakeview Elementary.

How is Recall Fever Rages in the Michigan Schools

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Lakeview Elementary.

With the funding crisis within the Michigan schools, many local district school board members have been forced to make many difficult decisions to cut costs. Buildings have been closed, and employees have been laid off.

Recall of elected local Michigan schools' officials is to be used for officials who do things that are illegal, immoral or negligent. Voters, however, are using the recall to target their local Michigan schools' board members for making unpopular decisions.

Such grassroots actions create the need for special elections. Even if tacked on to another local election, it is costly. Some recall elections can cost as little as ,000 or as much as ,000. This is money that could be used directly for student curriculum.

There have been two unsuccessful local Michigan schools recalls in the Livonia and St. Clair Shores Lakeview school districts. Voters, who did not believe it worth the cost of a special election, sidelined the St. Clair recall. Current petition drives for a recall are raging in Garden City, Redford Union, and Van Buren school districts, as well as Port Huron.

Five Garden City school board members are being targeted for voting to eliminate 29.5 custodial positions and four food service workers. The local school district, which faced a .7 million deficit, will save .1 million over the next three years due to the board's decision.

Five Van Buren board members also are being targeted for recall. Residents believe they have mismanaged money and have twice floated failed proposals to pay for a new high school. Many people believe that something can be done with the current high school, rather than building a new one.

Brad Banasik, an attorney for the Michigan Association of School Boards, is astonished by the recall fever. He states it is an unprecedented number of recall attempts. Unfortunately, the Michigan schools funding crisis continues, which means more difficult decisions by local Michigan schools' officials, who must cut spending in order to meet more important budgetary needs. Yet, the community is basically saying, "Do something we do not like, and you will be recalled!"

It is frustrating for local Michigan schools' officials. Lisa Gubachy, a targeted board member in the Redford Union school district, summed it up best when she said, "Somebody was going to be unhappy no matter what decision the board made." She wonders why she keeps doing it, but then quickly reminds herself, it is "for the kids."

I hope you will get new knowledge about Lakeview Elementary. Where you can offer easy use in your daily life. And above all, your reaction is Lakeview Elementary.

Do you know about - Facts About Bullying in Elementary Schools

Elementary! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

If there is one thing I dread my children facing while in school, it is bullying!  Everyone has heard about the kid who could not take it any longer and chose to take his/her own life.  Or about the one who plotted against those antagonizing him/her on a daily basis.  Having three children in the same school, I can always resort to asking questions such as: "Does anyone bother your brother on the bus?  What about in school?"  And, I also talk with other parents who have similar concerns.  However, shouldn't the schools be addressing this issue more pro-actively?

What I said. It is not in conclusion that the real about Elementary. You look at this article for home elevators an individual want to know is Elementary.

How is Facts About Bullying in Elementary Schools

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from Elementary.

Fact: According to School Bullying Statistics and Cyber Bullying Statistics, in 2007, Pennsylvania ranked 4th as one of the worst states to live in to avoid bullies in grades K through 12.

I live in Pennsylvania and such a statistic is scary!  However, most of the studies out there deal with middle and high school age children (6-18 years old).  When are we going to look at the origin of problems, rather than try and remedy them in the later years?

Fact: According to the School Survey on Crime and Safety (National Center for Education Statistics), conducted in 1999-2000, 26% of all public elementary schools reported that bullying happens daily or at least once a week.  In 2003-2004, 24% reported such occurrence.

Elementary schools must address bullying not only with all school personnel (administration, teachers, aides, janitors, lunch crews, etc.), but with parents and students.  This has to be deliberate!

Fact:  According to "Are We Safe?: The 2000 National Crime Prevention Survey" (National Crime Prevention Council, 2001), 75% of children are victims of bullying during their school years.  However, about 50% of the parents in this survey did not see bullying as a problem for their children.

We, as parents, can no longer believe that the teasing that was OK (was it really OK?) when we were in school, continues to be OK!

Fact:According to the Bureau of Justice School Bullying Statistics and Cyber Bullying Statistics, those children in lower grades reported being in twice as many fights as those in the higher grades.  However, there is a lower rate of serious violent crimes in the elementary level than in the middle or high schools.

Such statistics should tell us that the problems did not begin in middle or high school.  The problem began earlier and the signs are there.  We must practice prevention not remediation.

Fact: According to a questionnaire developed by researchers at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and the Stanford University School of Medicine (Science Daily, April 12, 2007), 9 out of 10 elementary students have been bullied and nearly 6 out of every 10 have participated in some form of bullying themselves.

Children may be quick to pinpoint a bully (someone who clearly intimidates and may even attack other peers); however, there are other forms of bullying that young children may not recognize or identify as such.

Is there an easy solution?  Of course not!  But, we cannot continue to ignore this problem as kids enter school and must deal with positive and negative social situations.  Parents must be made aware that this is not a 12-18 year old problem.  This is a 5-18 year old problem and the sooner we address it, the less we will have to re-teach children.  A learned behavior is a lot more difficult to change as time progresses!

Do you know about - The Top Ten Acting Schools

School Ratings! Again, for I know. Ready to share new things that are useful. You and your friends.

Acting, like any other craft, is two parts natural talent and one part education. Searching for just the right school can take some time and dependent upon what you want to learn, is also a subjective thing. Among those "to die for" drama, music and art schools, there are some which clearly and consistently outperform the others when it comes to putting out famous personalities.

What I said. It shouldn't be the conclusion that the real about School Ratings. You look at this article for information on a person need to know is School Ratings.

How is The Top Ten Acting Schools

We had a good read. For the benefit of yourself. Be sure to read to the end. I want you to get good knowledge from School Ratings.

Clearly belonging in the top ten acting schools are the following:

1. Julliard School. Located in the heart of New York City, attending Julliard is a dream for those who want to perform in theatre, dance or music. The criteria for admission to Julliard are a great deal more stringent than many other schools. Audition is required prior to entry and each year thereafter to remain with the program. Of more than 2000 applicants each year, they select about 8.

2. Yale University. An internationally recognized arena for visual and performing arts and the possessor of world acclaimed Schools of Art, Drama, and Music. Distinguished former students of Yale include Paul Newman, Meryl Streep, John Turturro, and Sigourney Weaver.

3. NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Founded in 1965 as a conservatory, Tisch quickly established itself as one of the leading arts schools in the country, shortly creating other departments that included dance, theatre design and lighting, and cinema studies.

4. Carnegie-Mellon. Located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon Drama has a long history of the very best in theatre and production classes. Those of Acting, Musical Theater, or Design and Technical productions. The program puts its emphasis on creativity, craft and discipline.

5. The Academy of Arts University. Founded in San Francisco in 1929, belongs to the lists of distinguished schools for theater and performing arts. Featuring classes in Motion Pictures and television, as well as Animation and Visual Effects, it is also one of the first Universities for the arts, which host an online, distance-learning program.

6. New York Academy for Acting and Film. Located in the heart of New York near Broadway, does in fact see many of its students work under the lights of Broadway. The schools claim to greatness is their penchant for realism. Not only do they teach acting, but also how to succeed and how to handle the pressures of attempting to become an actor in a city where employment is difficult to attain.

7. The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. The Admission criteria of this school are highly selective. Each prospective student is evaluated based on dramatic ability or potential and readiness, in terms of maturity and motivation, to benefit from the school. The second year at the academy is by invitation only.

8. Marcel Marceau Paris International School of Mimodrama. Is one of the few schools offering courses about Theatrical mime. It opened in 1979, and since it's opening has garnered students from nearly every country in the world. The students are chosen by an audition process and then begin a two year course of learning which is multi-disciplined in content.

9. UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television. Located in Los Angeles California, the entertainment capital of the world, it draws on leaders of the industry for instruction. UCLA School of Theater holds the distinction of being the only university in the country where the studies of live theater, film, television, is integrated with that of digital media manipulation within one single teaching arena.

10. Acting School of South Florida. The school is famous for placing emphasis on acting training given to aspiring actors to prepare them for the real job. Most teachers here are former actors that have decided to share their talents and experience to those who would like to act.

When choosing a school of the performing arts, we should bear in mind that some of those we apply to will be filled, or will deny our application. Probably the best way to apply will be to choose one or two of those you don't feel you will be accepted to, but would love to attend.
