Needless to say we love to be outdoors as often as we can. I love all the parks in our neighborhood and there are a few fishing ponds near by that are fun for the whole family. I love getting up just when the sun is out and going the the pond at the Cove. Walking nearby the pond I hear thousands of birds in the trees and the ducks on the pond. In all of the natural sounds I can spot a few deer crossing the street about 20 yards away. Just when I am caught up in the charm and then bam! I get a bite on the line and pull in a nice cat fish then look over to my son who says "Nice one dad!"

There are theater plays, music, scavenger hunts, movies in the park, talent shows, pumpkin carving, storey telling and more. On the south west side there is horse back, hiking and biking trails together with dirt bikes up the canyons as well as a beautiful scenery from the mountain side. The view is of the whole valley all the way up to Salt Lake City. On a absolutely clear day you can see Bountiful about 15 miles away as the crow flies. If you look to the south you can see South Mountain and the Draper Temple. Even farther south is the point of the mountain. In the right spot you can see down to Provo if you know where to look. There is also a great view of one of my beloved mountains along the Wasatch Front, Mt. Timpanogos to the east of American Fork. Such beautiful sights to see the whole valley from over hear.
There are all the necessities for shopping within 5 miles. There is the District that has clothing, pets, grocery, fast food and some sit down restaurants as well as first-rate shop for all your shopping needs. On the south end of town in Riverton there is another area full of shop and restaurants. There are the home box shop with easy access. Of coarse everyone needs to know that there is a Wal-Mart there too. So if you want Chinese, Italian, Mexican, fast food or good old American food you can get it all. Oh and dissert too. I'm not sure if you can tell but I love to eat out. I don't do it all the time but I sure love it.
The uptown area is getting a huge do over. There are going to be new city office buildings together with the library and some stores. The legacy highway is going to extend straight through Herriman so there will finally be easy passage to the whole west side of the valley. Traffic right now is a bit of a concern but the plans for the near future are already under way. Trax is the Salt Lake Valley society train and next year will be running from uptown Salt Lake City on down to South Jordan together with Day Break. This will make commuting to work more efficient and no one cares if you are texting while riding the train (as long as it isn't the train driver right?). Day Break in and of itself is a great place to take your family for shopping and to play at the lake. I took my blow up raft out on the lake and it was great. Nothing was bighting the bait but I had a great time with my son and daughter. There are some miles of trails nearby the lake and the neighborhood looks like it is out of the movies. Every house is unique and colored just right. The yards are all taken care of. The cars are all parked in the back of the homes so all you see is a row of houses with winding roads. You can get lost in this neighborhood for a few minutes but once you done it a time or two it begins to makes sense.
There is a lot more development going on in the south west angle of the valley and I hear of plans for a golf coarse, a big lake for boating and some snow skiing in the winter. There is a large range of citizen from singles on up to retirees. In my neighborhood we have newly weds and citizen who just live to play golf in their golden years. I love the warmth that comes from such a family oriented city. I have the best neighbors and I am grateful to have a place to raise my family and call home. I own my own mobile phone company and this is a great place to be in business. There is going to be more market building built in the next some years. This small town is growing up fast.
